The Geosciences Network (GEON) project is a collaboration between geologists and computer scientists from several universities with the mission to develop data publication, sharing and integration environments for different types of geology-related data. GEON portal has capabilities to register spatial data in shapefile format and some forms of Excel files. The existing setup allows the creation of maps from this data.
